2007-Feb-10 : Development restarted!

Simplicity is key

Protux is being developed to be a complete Digital Media Production tool, or Digital Media Workstation, that runs on any GNU/Linux workstation, in order to offer an integrated environment for audio, video and midi production, thru a inovative interface where the productivity is focused.

Some of goals of Protux are :

  • Work on float-point tranparent audio file handling with 32Bits-Only internal processing
  • Open any 16-128 bits, 4Khz - 256Khz sample Rate. mono/stereo audio
  • Use JMB (Keyboard driven) or Classic Mouse/Menu interface, or plug a custom one of your preference
  • Never loose your data , by using only Real Time filters
  • Use a soft bus mapping strategy in order to allow user to move a project from a box to another without changing its route mapping
  • Offer Null bus capabilities in case user doesn't have any sound device.
  • Automate filters and curves, including equalization
  • Zoom it quickly, shuttle it even quicker by JMB usage

The Protux project is leaded by Luciano Domenico Giordana (luciano domenico at gmail dot com) and Reinhard Amersberger ( protux at web dot de ). If you are a developer and want to contribute to the project , please contact one of us.
